Influencer Maria Eftimova, 28, died after falling from a height of over 19 meters while climbing Tryfan mountain in Snowdonia National Park, Wales.

A native of Bulgaria, Eftimova, who was studying civil engineering at the University of Salford and creating travel content on social media, was climbing with her friend Anna and Anna’s father when she fell.

A nearby team member immediately performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) after the accident, but they were unable to save her.

Eftimova was the second person to die in just 10 days in Eryri National Park. The mountain, which stands over 900 meters high, is notoriously one of the “deadliest” in the UK and the world.

Now, Eftimova’s friends and family in Bulgaria are facing the challenge of bringing her body back to her home country. A fundraiser has been set up to give Eftimova “the dignified farewell with her loved ones that she deserves,” according to a close friend of the influencer.
